Dick Zink stopped by The Highland County Press just before my family’s vacation/reunion at the Outer Banks in North Carolina this month. He showed absolutely no indication of battling the cancer that would soon take him from his family and friends. He was smiling; knowing that when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you. No one could have imagined what he was going through. But that’s not surprising, once you think about the man. He was always a Type A individual. Strong. Tough. Resilient. Like Frank Sinatra, he did it his way. Always.
