  • No Quit: Fairfield Lady Lions rally for 3 runs in 7th to win in regional semifinals
    Down to not just their final out, but their final strike, the Fairfield Lady Lions were that close to having their season come to a close in the Division III Regional Semifinals against Ironton. The problem for their opponent was the Lady Lions weren’t ready to bow out of the postseason just yet.

  • Hillsboro Garden Club celebrates 90 years
    Several members of the Hillsboro Garden Club attended the Wednesday, May 22 meeting of the Highland County Board of Commissioners. Commissioners Jeff Duncan, Terry Britton and Gary Abernathy presented a proclamation to the club in recognition of its 90th anniversary.
  • New fishing pier installed at Rocky Fork Lake
    A new fishing pier is now open at Rocky Fork Lake according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The project was made possible by the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Whitetails Unlimited South Central Ohio Chapter (WTU), Ohio State Parks and Watercraft and the Division of Wildlife.

  • Defense attorneys withdraw from murder case; Coss to defendant: ‘You’re the problem’

    During a status hearing Wednesday morning in Highland County Common Pleas Court for a New Vienna man charged with murder, Judge Rocky Coss said that both of the defendant’s attorneys have withdrawn from the case and told the defendant that it seems “you’re the problem.”
