Thanks to a caring community
To the editor:
I would like to thank people who helped me in the recent death of my husband, David Wilson Collins:
• Brad and the entire staff at Crestwood Ridge. They were a godsend, and I don’t know what I would have done without them. The nurses were the best of the best.
• Dr. Gunderman, a friend through the years and the best doctor David could have had.
• Dr. Lawley and Dr. Zona, who personally called me. My thanks to them.
• I’ll never forget Jim — you know who you are — that helped by making me smile, and your beautiful wife.
• Susan Davis, who helped me legally.
• Thompson Funeral Home. Steve was like an angel who appeared right after David’s death. He helped me with it all for days.
• My neighbors, Lee and Chris and Shirley.
• My angel at NCB — you know who you are.
• A special thanks to Rory Ryan, one of the first people I met when we moved to Hillsboro.
• How can I ever forget my best friend, Cathy Sammons, and her aunt Bessie, who has become my “auntie.” Cathy and I have shared grief, laughter and the loss of her husband Ron Truman and my beloved David. Maybe they will joke, work and move gravel for God in heaven.
My thanks and love to all.
Sincerely,
Barbara Lynn Collins
Hillsboro
