McClain High School is preparing for the annual homecoming football game and dance with a week full of spirit, football and dancing.

The Tiger cheerleaders chose “Lettuce Celebrate Homecoming” as the week’s theme with the following special days planned:

• Monday will be the Thousand Island. Wear your Hawaiian/beach gear.

• Tuesday is Caesar-themed. Dress like the Greeks.

• Wednesday is balsamic vinaigrette-themed. This is Prep day.

• Thursday’s theme is Ranch. Be sure to pack your western gear for this hoedown.

• Friday will be House-themed. Wear your best purple and gold.

The annual snake dance will take place Thursday, Sept. 19 at the practice field on McClain Avenue. All McClain fans are welcome to attend, beginning at 7 p.m.

On the following day, Friday, Sept. 20, there will be a pep rally for all students to enjoy. It will feature the football team, cheer team, the McClain band and Tigerettes. The homecoming court will be introduced, which includes: Mackenzie Gibson (queen), Kayla Anderson (first attendant), Erin Saunders (second attendant), Kaleigh Easter (senior attendant), Delaney Hutchinson (junior attendant), Zoei Crabtree (sophomore attendant) and Brooklyn Bond (freshman attendant).

That night, at 7 p.m., the McClain Tigers will battle East Clinton in the homecoming game. Be sure to come and support the team. The McClain Alumni are invited to play and cheer with the band and Tigerettes. There is a link on Instagram and Facebook for signups, and practices have already begun.

The homecoming dance will take place Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8-11 p.m. Grab your date and be prepared to dance — following the school rules, of course. The cost for the dance is $10 per person. If you have a date from out of the district, you will need to pick up an out-of-town form from the office. You or your date must be 21 or younger to attend, and at least one individual per couple must be a McClain student.
