The Southern Hills Athletic Conference has released the All-SHAC cross-country, golf, soccer and volleyball teams for the 2019 fall season, with 38 Highland County athletes receiving honors.

A total of 10 Highland County athletes received All-SHAC honors for the boys cross-country team, with Fairfield having six athletes in Cohen Frost, Ethan Davis, Blake Haines, Gavin Campbell, Landry Hattan and Brant Haines. Having two runners each were Lynchburg-Clay in Austin Barnhill and Dawson Osborn and Whiteoak in Robbie Raines and Wade Evans.

Also named to the All-SHAC boys cross-country team (in order of finish) were: Owen Young, Eastern; Steven Runyan, West Union; Cy Young, Eastern; Landyn Pickerill, Eastern; and Bryce Willoughby, Peebles.

Raymond Friend from Fairfield was named coach of the year, while Frost was named runner of the year.

For girls cross-country, five individuals from Highland County earned All-SHAC honors in Fairfield’s Ciara Colwell, Emily Price and Anna Davis and Lynchburg-Clay’s Raelynn Ruble and Sierra Benney.

Also named to the All-SHAC girls cross-country team (in order of finish) were: Katy Seas, Peebles; Adelyn Shupert, West Union; Camryn Pickerill, Eastern; Alisan Behr, Peebles; Caitlyn Wills, Eastern; Taylor Smith, Eastern; Makenna Armstrong, West Union; Anna Shupert, West Union; McKinzie Dotson, Eastern; and Emily Fannin, Eastern.

The coach of the year was Tom Glasscock of Eastern, and Fairfield’s Colwell was runner of the year.

Four Highland County boys golfers were named to the All-SHAC team, with Zach Harless of Whiteoak shooting a 162 in the SHAC championships, followed by Fairfield’s Ryland Donley (175) and Lynchburg-Clay’s Jordan Wills (177) and Brayden Eversole (178).

Other All-SHAC boys golfers (in order of finish) were Daulton McDonald, Manchester; Luke Hayslip, Manchester; Clayton Jones, West Union; Jonathon McDowell, West Union; Carson Chaney, North Adams; Cameron Young, North Adams; Jamie Woods, Eastern; Derrick Pell, West Union; Dakota Pell, West Union; Peyton Fyffe, Ripley; and Dawson Mills, Peebles.

The coach of the year was Carl Schneider of West Union. McDonald of Manchester was the boys golfer of the year.

Two Highland County girls golfers earned All-SHAC honors in Lynchburg-Clay’s India Williams (who shot a 100 at the conference tournament) and Fairfield’s Alexis Tompkins (who shot a 102).

Other members of the All-SHAC girls golf team (in order of finish) are Brooklynn Tolle, North Adams; Maggie Dorsey, Eastern; Madison Fulton, West Union; Jacklynn Humphrey, North Adams; Kileigh Mitchell, Manchester; Rachel Bolen, North Adams; Anna McElwee, Peebles; Jessie Crawford, North Adams; and Madison Humphrey, North Adams.

The coach of the year was Matt Williams of North Adams. North Adams also had the girls golfer of the year in Tolle.

Highland County had seven athletes named to the All-SHAC boys soccer team in Hunter Balon, Alex Barber, Blake Marcelino, Gavin Stroop and Connor Tyree of Lynchburg-Clay and James Bentley and Jordan Cameron of Fairfield.

Also named to the All-SHAC boys soccer team were: Colton Bone, Fayetteville; Ryan Boone, Eastern; Andrew Brand, North Adams; Weston Browning, Peebles; Jayden Hesler, North Adams; Hunter Hoop, North Adams; Kyle Lightner, Peebles, Wyatt Makstaller, Eastern; Colt Parker, West Union; Andres Vargas, Eastern; Seth Vogel, North Adams; and Cole Wagner, North Adams.

Isaac Wooten of North Adams was named coach of the year. The player of the year will be named at the SHAC fall sports banquet.

Five athletes from Highland County were named to the All-SHAC girls soccer team, with Lynchburg-Clay’s Sierra Benney, Natasha Davidson, Kaylee Lunsford and Karlie Tipton and Fairfield’s Molly Thackston being honored.

Also named to the All-SHAC girls soccer team were: Karissa Buttelwerth, North Adams; Bailey Dotson, Eastern; Alaina Eiterman, North Adams; Lilly Gray, Peebles; Braylie Jones, North Adams; Mary Litzinger, Eastern; Taylor Mechlin, Fayetteville; Olivia Parrett, Peebles; Mackenzie Silva, West Union; Taryn Smucker, Fayetteville; Mary Sonner, North Adams; Azyiah Williams, Ripley; and Caitlyn Wills, Eastern.

North Adams head coach Morgan Hendrickson was named coach of the year. The player of the year will be announced at the SHAC fall sports banquet.

Five Highland County volleyball players were named to the All-SHAC list. Receiving honors were Ashley Ernst and Brooklynn Laymon from Lynchburg-Clay; Layla Hattan and Jaden Smith from Fairfield; and Cylee Bratton of Whiteoak.

Also named to the All-SHAC volleyball team were: Tatum Arey, Peebles; Allison Daniels, Eastern; Taylor Dotson, Eastern; Delaney Harper, North Adams; Hannah Hobbs, Manchester; Jacey Justice, Peebles; Sierra Kendall, North Adams; Brooke Kennedy, Manchester; Taylor Malone, Fayetteville; Giulia Pegan, Fayetteville; Christian Reed, Peebles; Wylie Shipley, North Adams; Madison Taylor, West Union; and Harlee Wilkinson, Peebles.

North Adams head coach Katie Ragan was named coach of the year. The player of the year will be announced at the SHAC fall sports banquet.
