Golfers from Fairfield, Lynchburg-Clay and Whiteoak all competed at the 2019 Division III Southeast District Tournament on Monday, with the event being held at The Elks County Club in Portsmouth.

In the Sept. 30 event, Whiteoak senior Zach Harless tied for sixth overall with a final score of 83. Harless carded a 42 on the front nine and came back with a score of 41 on the back nine of the golf course.

Fairfield’s Ryland Donley tied for 16th overall with a score of 86, as the senior carded a 41 on the front nine, and had a score of 45 on the back nine.




Lynchburg-Clay’s Braydon Eversole, a sophomore, was 46th overall with a score of 101. Eversole finished with a front nine score of 50 and a back nine score of 51.

Before the district tournament, there was the sectional tournament held on Sept. 25 at the Jaycees Golf Course in Chillicothe. In that event, Harless tied for fifth place with a score of 84, shooting a 41 on the front half of the course and a 43 on the back nine.

Eversole was 13th at sectionals with a score of 90, as the sophomore had a front nine score of 44 and a back nine score of 46. Donley was 18th at sectionals last week with a 91 score. Donley shot a 45 on the front nine and 46 on the back nine.

At sectionals, the rest of the individual scores for Whiteoak, Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield included:

• Whiteoak: 29, Clay Risner 99 (48, 51); 39, Nate Price 105 (51, 54); 40, Carson Emery 106 (50, 56); 43, Ian Griffith 107 (51, 56).

• Lynchburg-Clay: 30, Jordan Willis 100 (51, 49); 35, Elliott Richardson 103 (54, 49); 43, Ian Waits 107 (48, 59).

• Fairfield: 19, Connor Priest 93 (46, 47); 30, Bryson Simmons 100 (49, 51); 36, Noah Allering 104 (51, 53); 46, Wyatt Willey 108 (52, 56).
